Our History<\/h2>\n

Photography as practice. Photography as possibility. Photography in society.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. The Beginning \u2014 Hiroshima Women\u2019s Camera Club (2011)<\/h3>\n

In October 2011, Mariko Akimoto founded the Hiroshima Women\u2019s Camera Club in Saeki Ward, Hiroshima. The initial group consisted of five members.<\/p>\n

The objective was not merely technical improvement, but the exploration of photography\u2019s potential.<\/p>\n

  • Refining sensitivity through visual practice<\/li>\n
  • Discovering overlooked perspectives<\/li>\n
  • Communicating ideas and emotions through photography<\/li>\n
  • Transforming images into wearable and printed forms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The community grew to over 200 registered members and organized exhibitions, workshops, and public events.<\/p>\n

    In 2018, Studio Tales was launched as a photography service based in Saeki Ward.<\/p>\n

    In 2019, Mariko relocated to Okinawa for a collaborative business initiative and launched the Earth Photo Project.<\/p>\n
