The Stairs of Montmartre Are Photogenic<\/h4>\n

For art lovers and photography enthusiasts, Montmartre is a must-visit. Once a village of artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Utrillo, and Toulouse-Lautrec, Montmartre has long been a gathering place for creative minds.
\nPlace du Tertre still preserves that tradition today and is often described as \u201cthe square where you can feel art the most in Paris.\u201d

Before you get there, however, I should mention how steep the stairs can be.<\/p>\n

Rue Foyatier, famous for film locations, has more than 220 steps. To be precise, it consists of 222 steps with a vertical rise of 36 meters.
\nThe staircase is 100 meters long and 12 meters wide. If we calculate:
\n36 meters \u00f7 222 steps = approximately 16.2 cm per step (estimated).<\/p>\n

This is within the standard range for step height. However, because the staircase stretches for 100 meters and 222 steps, the accumulated incline feels quite steep.<\/p>\n

If you rush to the top in one go just to avoid looking weak, you may find yourself too exhausted to do anything once you arrive. Please be careful.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not the only reason, but I chose a different staircase\u2014the one near the Wall of Love, likely on Rue Maurice Utrillo.
\nThere are many other stairways in Montmartre, and all of them are photogenic.<\/p>\n

Photo Spots and Recommended Route<\/h4>\n

Here is my personal recommended walking route:<\/p>\n

\u2460 Take a commemorative photo at the very famous \u201cLe Mur des Je t\u2019aime\u201d (The Wall of Love).
\n(Couples often point to \u201cI love you\u201d written in their favorite language and take photos of each other.)<\/p>\n

\u2461 Climb the stairs of Rue Maurice Utrillo. Take short breaks along the way, photographing the graffiti on the walls.<\/p>\n

\u2462 Arrive at Place du Tertre and enjoy taking photos for a while.<\/p>\n

\u2463 From the square in front of the Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur Basilica, walk straight south along the main street. At the viewpoint overlooking central Paris, stop for a few photos.<\/p>\n

\u2464 Walk around and photograph the Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur Basilica from the park side.<\/p>\n
